Washing hands with soap in the pouring of water remains a top priority in clean hands.
Obviously we can not compare the effectiveness of alcohol-based hand sanitizer (hand sanitizers) to kill viruses and bacteria compared to washing hands with soap and running water.

Actually, the main function of the hand sanitizer is a replacement when we can not find water and soap to clean hands. A recent study proves that hand sanitizers may increase the risk of viral infections that trigger inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.

Many people believe that the same effect with a hand sanitizer to wash hands with soap so prefer to use it because it is more practical. In fact, they should know that hand sanitizer is used only in emergencies and can not fully replace the function of soap.

The danger of hand sanitizer such as the use of irrational or excessive antibiotics, which can lead to resistance of germs. However, recent research suggests that excessive use of hand sanitizers may increase risk of infection.

Hand sanitizer gastroentritis increase the risk of infection. In this viral infection called norovirus triggering intestinal mucosal inflammation. Highly contagious and can cause diarrhea, nausea and pain in the gut.

Medicalnewstoday once did a study on 161 health facilities and presented at the meeting of the American College of Preventative Medicine. Employees at health facilities surveyed 6 times prefer to wash their hands with hand sanitizer instead of soap. Then, 53% of employees who use hand sanitizer more frequently, reported experience was affected by outbreaks of norovirus. This figure is much larger than the employees who prefer to use soap, which is only 18%.

"Hand cleaners are less than optimal in controlling norovirus infection. There is no direct relationship between cleaning hands with this viral infection, but there is an increasing risk in the long run only if using a hand sanitizer," according to Dr. David Blaney of disease control and prevention center of the U.S.
